Kayla E. is an award-winning artist and designer of Mexican-American descent. She's the Editor-in-Chief of Nat. Brut and Art Director of Fantagraphics Books. Precious Rubbish, her graphic memoir, is forthcoming from Fantagraphics in 2024. Kayla works out of her studio in rural North Carolina.

Kayla E., author of the forthcoming memoir Precious Rubbish, expands on why only comics can tell the story of a childhood shaped by trauma.
